what a difference a day makes
Lately, I've been feeling kinda blue, but someone I have great respect for reminded of all the things I have to be grateful for and what a terrific life I have compared to so many other people in the world. Her words acted as salve on my wounds; some folks just know all the right things to say. So as I reflect on my life, I am very thankful to have healthy children, awesome friends, compassionate and (super) intelligent professors, and the next few years of my life to achieve my personal dream of getting a Ph.d.
Not bad for a day's work, huh? Or as my grandmother would say...
no hay mal que por bien no venga.
Translation- (non-literal) every cloud has a silver lining.
Translation- (literal) there are no wrongs from which rights have not been born.
