I'm Back!
well, actually, i have been back for about 2 weeks now, but learning and teaching have kept me from my beloved blog. that and the tragedy of Katrina have left me wondering what is happening in the world. much to my pleasure, the hip hop world has responded by penning a few poems that really break it down, and of course, those that are too stupid to understand loss, sorrow, and the authentic meaning of the word devastation. This next link is one that you won't want to miss...barbra bush's comments on how her son is saving the world, one poor person at a time. this is so infuriating, that i have to let those who frequent this blog see for themselves. the link was provided by my mentor, who (thank goodness) always keeps his finger on the pulse. Thanks ab.

She really is breathtaking, isn't she? It's just stunning to have someone assert--TO THE PRESS--that the hurricane did the poor people of NO a favor by setting them up for public largess.
