WRT 307: Unit #4 Calendar
Projects: Salary: Presentations, media, and technology
Multi-product group project with calendar30% Summary:
Unit #4 asks you to draw on the all previous units as well as your own experience and field-specific knowledge to collaboratively complete a project. Your project will be of your groups own choosing, and it will require a written proposal to be approved prior to the project commencing.
Unit #4 will allow you to
1) Draw on your work in previous units
2) Produce a 1 page professional proposal for review
3) Learn and teach a specific workplace genre not previously covered
4) Produce and follow your own calendar/schedule
5) Produce a PowerPoint presentation and/or run a workshop (15 minutes)
Proposals:
Identify a specific workplace genre, not yet covered in class, that you wish to learn about and present to the class as a whole
Include a calendar or other schedule and dates for progress reports
Include a cover memo
Maximum one page in length (does not include memo)
Proposal must be accepted, with all changes agreed upon
Presentations/Workshops:
Demonstrate expertise in a given genre
Identify key elements or features of a given genre
Teach the audience about the genre, its use, applications, risks, varieties, etc
Maximum 15 minutes in length
Make use of technology in some form, as appropriate
Progress Reports:
Written as memos, either hardcopy or electronic, as defined in your proposal
Include any supporting documents, as necessary and appropriate
